An unauthorized autobiography, if I knew I was writing this, I would sue myself out of existence... ;)

Court Day, Part 2.

Well, the day has come and gone. I won't bore you with all the details (they were pretty Dull details), but I went back to the courthouse at the appointed hour (actually about a half an hour before hand) and waited. People started streaming out of the court room, the trial was over. The defense won so he had to pay $100.00, and that is all. I got $12.00 for my trouble. I knew juror's got paid, I didn't realize that witnesses got paid.

Court Day, Part 1.

I got up at some unholy hour (for a day off) to go to court. The subpoena said I should be there at 8:45. When I had spoken to the lawyer he told me he thought it would be about 1:00p before he would need me, but since the subpoena said 8:45, I figured that was when I had better be there. I got there at 8:30. I checked in and was told that I should go sit in the courtroom. I think they may have thought I was a juror. I sat in the court room for a while and then the lawyer for the defense pulled me out. He had me sit in the hallway.

A few hours went by and he came out and told me I should go to lunch because it would be at least an hour before I was needed. I went to Church's fried Chicken (it was close and cheap(ish)). I may remark more on this later. After eating I headed back to the courthouse and everyone seemed to be coming out. The lawyer said to come back about 2:30.

I came home and puttered about, and now am about to head back off to court. Hopefully they will get me in there and let me say my bit and then let me go. This is already taking all day....

Intersting Goings On
Category: Life

So, I was in the downstairs bathroom and came out and noticesd all this flashing of red and blue out front. I took a look and there was a cop that apparently had a white truck pulled over.

I came upstairs and turned off my light ( ;) ) and sat in to watch fully expecting a ticket to change hands and then this brief drama to end. suddenly to my surprise the guy in the truck yells "I'm going!" (This yelled loud enough for me to hear through my closed window). Apparently the cop took umbridge at this and kicked (don't ask me how he did this, even though I watched it I can't tell you) the truck door opened and roused the guy out. He had the guy facing his own truck. Apparently words were exchanged bcause the cop discharged his weapon into the guy. Now remember the guy is still facing his truck, away from the cop.

There was a loud POP and I thought "Holy shit he shot him!" There was a pause, (long enough for me to think the above) then the guy fell down and I noticed the wires that were leading from the weapon to the guy. I suddenly realized that the guy had been tazed. The guy yelled (but not nearly as loud as before) "What did you do that for?" Apparently the cop answered (though this is only a guess on my part) and the guy laid there for a few moments until another cruiser pulled up. He was cuffed, an ambulance pulled up and the emt looked him over, they took him to one of the cars (where presumably he still is, they are still out there as I write this). I'll write more if anything else interesting develops, but I think that this little story has unfolded as far (for me any way) as it is going to.

Now the rest:

Well as you know from a previous blog, I saw an altercation between the police and a civilian outside my window. Well, somehow I seem to have gotten swept up in this little drama, they (the party of the civilian (who happens to live across the street from me)) wants me as a witness. I would probably make a completely useless witness had I not blogged about this the moment after it was done.

So today I get to troop down to downtown (and you know how much I love downtown) to do an interview with a lawyer. Yay.
